Hit-A-Thon 2009 is Coming
Continuing a Foster City tradition that spans many years, FCYSA will be holding this year’s annual Hit-A-Thon and Picture day on Sunday, March 15, 2009.
The Hit-A-Thon pledge drive gives relatives and friends the opportunity to help promote the FCYSA ASA program in Foster City. Players ask their relatives and friends to make a pledge for them. Pledges are either "per foot" that the ball is hit, or a fixed amount.
The Hit-A-Thon event is a combination of Picture Day, the actual Hit-A-Thon and a BBQ picnic in Sea Cloud Park. Team and individual pictures are taken first by professional photographers. After pictures, teams go to hitting lanes, where every player hits several soft-core balls from a Tee. The coaches write the longest distance batted on the player's Hit-A-Thon pledge card. This distance is used to calculate distance pledges when the Hit-A-Thon pledge collection letters are sent out by the league. After hitting, the players, parents and friends enjoy a BBQ (no charge) for a good time.
Please be at Sea Cloud Park at least 15 to 30 minutes early to sign in, and bring your completed Hit-A-Thon pledge cards with you. Remember to have each sponsor's section completely filled out (printed) including names, addresses, states and zip codes.
Pledge cards may be obtained from coaches or league officials, or may be printed out by Clicking Here.
